The Santaland Diaries

by | Nov 7, 2018 | 0 comments

The outrageously witty holiday cult classic, penned by NPR comic genius David Sedaris, closes out our 2018 season.

Out of work and middle-aged, a writer in need of employment utilizes his gift of gab in the trade of elfdom at Macy’s Department Store. Surrounded by bratty kids with high-strung parents and donning a humbling costume, he finds that his sardonic self and his elfin alter ego, “Crumpet,” are not quite compatible.

Crumpet’s remedy for the saccharine overdose he endures in his never-ending exuberant job is to tell all – giving us a behind-the-scenes look into the not so glamorous lives of Santa and his elves.

Though definitely not your traditional stocking stuffer, Crumpet’s hilarious recount of all the trials and tribulations that the holidays bring is sure to bring a smile to even the grouchiest face!
