50th Anniversary Library Display

Written by Rebecca Massey

March 2, 2018

To celebrate Cecil College’s 50th Anniversary, the library has a monthly display hosted by various departments. Now that it’s March, the library display is both Mathematics and St. Patrick’s Day themed, with green fabric backing books about Pi, pie, and the geometry of pasta. Also present is the “It all started here” 50th anniversary poster.

The Mathematics department will be hosting activities such as a Pi event on Thursday, March 29th at 3PM where each full time math faculty member will be baking a pie to be judged by 5 “celebrity” judges; Dr. Bolt, Dr. Dryer, Dr. Dougherty, Melissa D’Agostino, and Ed Durham. There will be coffee, tea, and pies for people who want to stop by and take part in some of the hands-on activities to discover the value of Pi.

Here are the departments you can expect to see taking over the library display each month:

March – Mathematics

April – English

May – Nursing & Social Sciences

June -Athletics

July – MST & Computer Science

August – Student Services

September – VCP, Arts & Engineering

October – Chemistry & PTA

November – Business

December – Alumni
