Winter Storm Riley tore through the East Coast this past week, causing high winds, coastal flooding, and heavy precipitation. The storm, which lasted from March 1-4, caused an approximated 2 million people to be without power throughout the Mid-Atlantic, Northeast, and Great Lakes.

Many people were stuck in standstill traffic Friday night as Governor Larry Hogan issued a state of emergency following multiple weather-related accidents, including two semi-trucks overturning on Interstate 95. The high wind warnings caused the US 40 Hatem Bridge and the I-95 Tydings Bridge to close Friday night, which comprise two of the three traffic bridges across the Susquehanna River in Maryland. In total, Maryland reported 108 incidents of wind damage.

According to the Baltimore Sun, at least 30,000 power outages remained Monday morning.
